Vic Toews, MP for Provencher, has announced federal funding for the Lac du Bonnet Regional Library under the Harper Government’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF). This announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
“The Lac du Bonnet Regional Library is a cornerstone of the community and serves people of all ages,” said Minister Toews. “Thanks to our Government’s investments in community infrastructure we are creating jobs and growth while improving community spaces.”
Under the project, the Lac du Bonnet Regional Library, with federal funding of $5,617, will improve the quality of the facility by repairing and painting the ceiling and walls.
“These additional funds from Western Economic Diversification Canada will allow us to fully utilize our operating capital to provide innovative programming, technological upgrades and acquire valuable resources to better serve our patrons and the surrounding community,” said Vickie Short, Head Librarian, Lac du Bonnet Regional Library. “We are very proud that the Library is one of our community’s cornerstones for resources and public services and we will continue to offer both our community members and visitors a warm welcoming environment.”
