Oxford House RCMP partnered with Morden Police Service and Canada’s History magazine, formerly The Beaver, to get valuable gifts to those who in need.

The Morden and District United Way collected a large amount of winter clothing through the Koats for Kids Program.

The Morden Police Service partnered with the Oxford House RCMP Detachment to transport approximately 200 articles of winter clothing, for both children and adults, to Bunibonibee Cree Nation. Once the clothing arrived, RCMP members distributed the garments with the assistance of Awasis, the local Child and Family Services agency, ensuring that members of the community would be warm despite the frigid temperatures of Manitoba’s north.

Members of the Oxford House RCMP Detachment also got involved when the Oxford House Elementary School library needed new books. Corporal Rodney Campbell reached out to Canada’s History magazine (formerly The Beaver) and received a variety of books and magazines to help restock the library. The focus of the literature donated by Canada’s History was cultural, with information geared towards First Nations.

RCMP arranged for the transport of the material to Oxford House, where the donation was made to school administrators.
