On January 17, 2013, at approximately 12:30pm, Steinbach RCMP received a call of a suspicious male crossing the Woodlawn Elementary School yard, carrying what was believed to have been a rifle case.
Police were informed that the subject walked across the Woodlawn school yard and into a residential area.
RCMP investigation quickly determined the identity of the subject and that it was a replica firearm. Police further determined that there was no threat to public safety.
Police say that the school took appropriate action as per their protocols to ensure the safety of the children and staff members.
