A Mitchell youth and a Blumenort youth are facing assault charges after being arrested by police this past week.
On January 18, 2013, Steinbach RCMP responded to an assault at The Learning Center in Steinbach, where a teacher was assaulted by two students. RCMP report that the two suspects had left the scene when police arrived.
Police say that a 16-year-old female youth from Mitchell was arrested later that day and a 15-year-old male youth from Blumenort was arrested the next day. Both were charged with assault causing bodily harm. The female was remanded into custody and the male was released to appear in court at a later date.
