On February 2, 2013, at about 1:30am, Portage la Prairie RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to a residence on Long Plain First Nation to a complaint of an unresponsive male.
RCMP report that upon arrival, police located an adult male suffering from a gun-shot wound. The man was transported to hospital in critical condition.
Portage la Prairie RCMP as well as the RCMP Major Crime Services and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
