Just after 4:30am on February 5, 2012, Central Plains RCMP seized a quantity of marijuana while investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence.
Police say that while on patrol, a 2010 Chevrolet Impala was observed on Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The vehicle was stopped as police were investigating a Highway Traffic Act offence. Subsequent investigation revealed that the two occupants in the vehicle were in possession of approximately 174 grams of marijuana, which has a value of approximately $2,600.
RCMP report that 23-year-old Geordon Peters of Long Plain First Nation has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. Peters has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on March 4, 2013.
Charges are pending on a male youth from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
