Six individuals in The Pas and area are facing drug trafficking related charges after being arrested by police over the last few weeks.
On February 7, 2013, as part of an ongoing investigation, The Pas RCMP conducted a traffic stop in which a male was arrested and found to have in his possession a quantity of marijuana and over $2,000 in cash. Police later executed a search warrant at his residence and found a further quantity of marijuana. Jack Bradley Sanderson, 26, of The Pas, has been charged with possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possessing the proceeds of crime and five additional charges. He was remanded into custody and later released on his own recognizance.
On February 8, 2013, The Pas RCMP attended a licenced establishment where a male was arrested and found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine. The individual was later released on a promise to appear. Charges are pending against a 17-year-old male youth for one count of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
On February 14, 2013, as part of an ongoing investigation, The Pas RCMP conducted a traffic stop and arrested a male who was found to be in possession of six ounces of cocaine. Barry Morgan Trueman, 32, of Opaskwayak, is charged with one count of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and was released on a recognizance. A 35-year-old male from The Pas was later arrested in relation to the investigation. He is facing charges of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and has been released from police custody.
On February 14, 2013, as part of a continuing investigation, The Pas RCMP conducted a traffic stop which led to the arrest of one male and one female. A small quantity of benzodiazepine was located inside the vehicle. Horace Robert Personius, 28, of Opaskwayak, is charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance in relation to the investigation. Personius was remanded into custody and later released on his own recognizance.
On February 19, 2013, as part of a continuing investigation, The Pas RCMP conducted a traffic stop in which a male was arrested and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and a small amount of cash. Dennis James Alfred Fenner, 40, of The Pas District is charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing the proceeds of crime and two additional charges in relation to the case. Fenner was remanded into custody.
“The RCMP is committed to ensuring safe communities,” said Sergeant Lee Fortin of the Pas RCMP. “Each and every one of these arrests and seizures sends a message, and is significant to the safety of the community.”
Police say that the estimated street value of the combined drug seizures is approximately $17,000.
