Portage la Prairie RCMP are currently investigating a number of field fires that recently occurred in St. Ambroise, Manitoba.
On May 13, 2013, Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage la Prairie Fire Department responded to a number of fires on the west side of St. Ambroise, Manitoba. Woodlands Fire Department, Manitoba Conversation and The Office of the Fire Commissioner assisted in the investigation.
Police say that the fires were located along Provincial Road 83 and 84 in the RM of Portage la Prairie and that no injuries were reported in this incident. The fires had posed a potential endangerment to a number of homes and structures around St. Ambroise.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner deemed that the fires were not accidental. Anyone with information about this incident are asked to contact the Central Plains RCMP at 204-857-4445 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
