An Ethelbert man is facing charges for impaired driving after being arrested by police this past weekend in Dauphin, Manitoba.
Around 1am, on June 23, 2013, officers on patrol from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment observed a vehicle traveling north on Main Street in Dauphin. The officer’s attention was drawn to the car as it was weaving in its lane and traveling at a slow speed. Officers conducted a traffic stop and found the driver to be impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to the Dauphin Detachment where breath tests confirmed his blood alcohol concentration to be over .08.
RCMP report that 51-year-old Christopher Thomas Bird, from the RM of Ethelbert, has been charged with impaired driving and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Dauphin on August 6, 2013.
