Shortly after 7pm on July 2, 2013, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment were called to a break and enter in progress at a home on Mountain Road in Dauphin.
Police say that the homeowner had apprehended one of the suspects as they tried to run from the home before officers arrived on scene. Investigators quickly identified a number of other suspects who were arrested a short time later.
RCMP report that a 15-year-old Dauphin male youth has been charged with break and enter and is to appear in court in Dauphin on July 10. A 13-year-old male youth, also from Dauphin, was released from custody with a first appearance court date in Dauphin on September 11, 2013. A third youth who was arrested in this incident, a 15-year-old male from Dauphin, was also released from custody with a first appearance court date in Dauphin on September 11, 2013. He is facing charges in relation to a number of other thefts.
Investigators determined these two youths along with a number of other youths were responsible for a number of other break and enters and thefts from vehicles in Dauphin over the last couple of weeks.
RCMP would like to remind residents to not leave valuables in their vehicles in plain sight and also to lock their vehicles when not attended.
