Powerview RCMP are investigating a complaint of break, enter and assault which was reported to have occurred earlier this month on Sagkeeng First Nation.

The complainant reports that on July 7, 2013, at about 11pm, three people wearing masks, two males and one female, entered a home and assaulted two adult females. The victims suffered minor injuries and some damage occurred to the residence. One of the assailants had his mask pulled off and was identified before fleeing.

RCMP report that 35-year-old Steven Mark Courchene of Sagkeeng First Nation was later arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, assault, break and enter and uttering threats for his alleged involvement.

Police continue to look for the other two suspects. The male is described as being tall and thin, wearing a maroon coloured hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap. The female is described as wearing a hot pink hooded sweatshirt.
