On August 18, 2013, shortly after 6:30pm, Amaranth RCMP, Fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 50, just south of Langruth, in the RM of Lakeland.
RCMP arrived on scene and found the vehicle with six occupants.
One female infant, identified as a 2-year-old girl of Winnipeg, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, identified as a 25-year-old man of Winnipeg, along with an adult female passenger, were both transported to Portage la Prairie for care and are currently listed in stable condition. A six-year-old female child has been discharged. An adult female was airlifted to Winnipeg and remains in hospital with serious injuries. A five-year-old female child who was also airlifted is listed in stable condition.
Early investigation suggest the vehicle was southbound on Hwy 50 when the driver lost control and rolled. Amaranth RCMP with the assistance of a Traffic Analyst remain on scene and continue to investigate.
