On September 9, 2013, just before 11pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP, EMS and Portage Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Tupper Street N and 6th Avenue E in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Initial investigation revealed that an eastbound 2005 Ford Mustang failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. As a result of the collision two parked vehicles were also damaged.

Police say that the driver, who was the lone occupant of the Cavalier, was transported to hospital with what were reported to be non life threatening injuries.

RCMP report that the driver of the Ford Mustang, a 24-year-old female from Portage la Prairie, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code, as well, she was served offence notices for failing to stop at a stop sign and driving carelessly, both under the Highway Traffic Act.
