On September 26, 2013, at about 12:15am, Island Lake RCMP were advised that 28-year-old Wayne Bradford Wood of St. Theresa Point had been assaulted.
Wood was found seriously injured, lying on a road in the community. He was transported to the local Nursing Station where he succumbed to his injuries a short while later.
Police investigation has led to the arrest of five local youth between the ages of 15 and 17-years-old. All five remain in police custody and have been charged with second degree murder. They are scheduled to appear in Winnipeg court.
