A Winnipeg woman is facing numerous charges, including assaulting an officer, after recently being arrested by Steinbach RCMP.
On September 27, 2013 members of the Steinbach RCMP received a complaint of an impaired driver leaving a local establishment. RCMP were able to locate the driver who was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. Police investigation revealed that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration nearly twice the legal limit.
While in police custody, the suspect assaulted a member of the RCMP. As a result of the investigation a 36-year-old woman from Winnipeg has been charged with assaulting a police officer, impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
The police officer was not injured in the incident.
