A 36-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after recently being arrested by Steinbach RCMP.
Steinbach RCMP were recently alerted to an impaired driver traveling into Steinbach. The driver was noticed by a pair of truck drivers who avoided colliding with a white pick-up truck traveling southbound towards Steinbach on Highway 12.
Police say that the pick-up truck failed to stop for a red light at Clearspring road, narrowly missing the semi trailer turning onto Highway 12.
Police responded, caught up to the driver and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. The 36-year-old man was arrested and thru breath samples, it was determined that he was nearly 2.5 times over the legal limit.
RCMP report that the man was released on a promise to appear for court in Steinbach.
