Two Winnipeg men are facing drug trafficking charges after police seized 196 pounds of marijuana from their vehicle earlier this week.
On October 14, after a two month investigation, RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit seized 196 pounds of marijuana from an SUV traveling east on the Trans-Canada Highway in the RM of St. Francois Xavier.
RCMP report that two men were arrested during the course of this investigation. The men were identified as 52-year-old Tho Minh Nguyen and 39-year-old Pat Dat Phan, both of Winnipeg. Nguyen and Phan have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (cannabis) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Both men were released from custody to appear in Winnipeg court on November 21, 2013.
