On November 10, 2013, shortly after 10am, Steinbach RCMP responded to a domestic dispute in the town of La Broquerie.

It was reported that a female victim had been pushed, choked and threatened by her boyfriend. When police attended, the suspect grabbed a large hunting knife, causing the situation to become very dangerous for all involved. Police eventually were able to convince the suspect to drop the knife and he was taken into custody without further incident.

RCMP rerport that the suspect, a 31-year-old La Broquerie man, is now facing 9 charges relating to assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
