On November 18, 2013, shortly after 12pm, RCMP East District Traffic Services along with area EMS and Fire were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 9, north of Petersfield.
RCMP have learned that a 72-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a southbound vehicle, driven by a 51-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews. An 82-year-old female was a passenger in the southbound vehicle.
Police say that both the 82-year-old passenger and the 72-year-old driver perished in the collision. The 51-year-old driver is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol is not a factor in this collision. An RCMP Traffic Analyst, along with the RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team, assisted with the investigation.
