On November 16, 2013, around 2:30am, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP Detachment received a report of a robbery that had occurred on 4th Avenue S.W, in Dauphin, Manitoba.
Police say that a 24-year-old man was robbed of a case of beer as he was walking down the street. During the robbery, the victim was cut by one of his assailants. A couple of hours later, officers received a report of another male who had been assaulted with a weapon as he was walking down the street. Investigators believed the same people were responsible for each incident.
On Saturday evening, investigators arrested and charged 24-year-old Joshua James Chartrand of Dauphin, with robbery. A second suspect was arrested on Monday evening. 20-year-old Fritz William James Chartrand of Dauphin has also been charged with robbery and assault with a weapon. Both men have been remanded in custody.
Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a third suspect. 23-year-old Freeman Thomas Gustave Zong has been charged with robbery and assault with a weapon. Canada-wide arrest warrants have been issued by the court.
Freeman ZONG also goes by the name of Freeman Chartrand. Freeman Zong has black hair and brown eyes, is approximately 6’1″ tall and weighs approximately 210 lbs. Zong is considered dangerous. Please do not approach him.
