A La Broquerie woman and man are facing a number of impaired driving related charges after being arrested by Steinbach RCMP this past weekend.

On February 1, 2014, at approximately 7:30pm, Steinbach RCMP were on patrol in La Broquerie when a vehicle was observed driving erratically. RCMP activated their emergency lights and the vehicle came to a stop.

Police determined that the 52-year-old woman driver from La Broquerie displayed signs of impairment. She was arrested and escorted back to the RCMP Detachment where breath samples were obtained. The woman was released from custody and will be facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving while over 80 mg% and breach of probation.

Approximately one hour later at 8:30 pm, Steinbach RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover at the intersection of road 40E and road 34N, in the RM of La Broquerie, Manitoba. The occupants of the vehicle left the scene but were located a short distance away from the crash.

The driver, a 45-year-old man from the RM of La Broquerie, was arrested and is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving while over 80 mg%. He was released from custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court.
