On February 19, 2014, shortly before 1:30am, Headingley RCMP responded to the report to of power lines being down at the intersection of Wilkes Avenue and Highway 100 near the snow dump site.
Initial police investigation revealed that three power poles were down, with one of the poles having had a transformer on it. Manitoba Hydro was contacted to restore the poles and lines which were knocked down.
At this time, it is believed a truck leaving the snow dump site may have had its dump trailer in the air and hooked the overhead power lines pulling them down. Police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please contact Headingley RCMP at 204-831-5929.
