On February 18, 2014 shortly before 8:30pm, Brandon RCMP along with Brandon EMS and fire services, were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 10, four miles south of Brandon.
Police say that the 21-year-old female driver of a 2010 Ford F250 truck was traveling north on Highway 10 when it lost control, crossed over into the southbound lane and collided with a southbound 2004 Pontiac Sunfire.
The lone female driver of the Pontiac Sunfire, 21, was transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the truck were treated on scene.
Meanwhile, in responding to the first collision, police arrived on scene to find that a 26-year-old male driver of a 1996 Ford Taurus had rear ended a 2000 GMC Sierra truck parked on northbound side of Highway 10.
The driver of the GMC Sierra was not in his vehicle at the time of the collision as he was attending to the occupants of the initial collision. The driver of the Ford Taurus was cleared medically at the scene.
RCMP report that slippery road conditions are considered a contributing factor in these incidents.
