On February 25, 2014, just before 2am, Boissevain and Killarney RCMP responded to a house fire on Peters Street in Boissevain, Manitoba.
Police say that the fire was put out by approximately 6am. One individual was able to escape the blaze. One other individual was found deceased and an autopsy has been scheduled in Winnipeg.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner was on scene. However, due to the frigid temperatures, there are some environmental factors slowing the investigation. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
