David Richert heads to Salt Lake City ahead of this weekend’s Utah Grand Prix where Sunday will mark Round 3 of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series.

After the opening 2 rounds of the season in Virginia, Richert finds himself tied for 11th in the overall driver’s championship standings.  With the competition being extremely competitive, around 40,000 race fans at the track will be treated to a fantastic event.  Having both mountains and salt flats as a backdrop, Miller Motorsport Park south-west of Salt Lake City will provide a beautiful setting for the race weekend.

Richert also hopes to continue with the initial success in raising funds for Samaritan’s Purse.  For every minute he is racing in Utah, over $20 will be donated to construct BioSand Walter Filter units in parts of the world where they have no access to clean water.  By completing the first 2 races, over $1,200 has already been raised.  Visit www.richertracing.com and check out Team David for details on how you can become involved.

“I have never raced at Miller Motorsport Park in Utah so this will be a big challenge to overcome in just a 30 minute practice session prior to qualifying.  I’ve done many laps of the track on computer, as well as other prep work, so hopefully I’ll be ready to put the car on the limit the moment I leave pitlane.” – David Richert
