On April 2, 2014, Oakbank and Beausejour RCMP, assisted by the Selkirk RCMP General Investigation Section and the RCMP Federal and Serious Organized Crime Unit of Winnipeg, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a rural residence in the RM of Brokenhead, Manitoba.

Police raided the sophisticated marijuana grow operation and seized approximately 300 marijuana plants as well as lighting and venting equipment.
RCMP report that 48-year-old Onofrio Romolo was arrested at the scene. Romolo has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Beausejour Provincial Court on June 17, 2014.
