David Richert was in action this weekend at the Utah Grand Prix where he was able to finish in the points with a 19th place result.  Sunday marked Round 3 of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup season which took place at Miller Motorsport Park just southwest of Salt Lake City.

Qualifying on Saturday was Richert’s setback for the weekend and the poor result meant he had to line up towards the tail end of the field for Sunday’s race.  “There were several factors that played into my poor qualifying performance” states Richert, “but I am confident we can address those issues and ensure a better result next time”.

On the bright side, Richert was able to raise another $630 for Samaritan’s Purse and the construction of BioSand Water Filters around the world, bringing the season total to over $1,800.  As a result of Richert completing the entire race, over 40 more people will receive clean water for their daily needs.

Round 4 of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup takes place June 19-21 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
