After a lengthy investigation that began in December 2013, a former Gretna pastor is facing numerous charges after recently being arrested by Altona RCMP.

During the summer of 2012, two female youths discovered a mobile device in a washroom at a residence they were staying at in Moose Lake Provincial Park. Upon review of the device, still images and video of the two youths, from the RM of Rhineland, were discovered. The matter was not reported to RCMP until December 2013, at which time a criminal investigation commenced.

A 34-year-old man from Gretna was arrested on May 21, 2014, in relation to this matter and released on a Promise to Appear. He is scheduled to appear in court in Steinbach on June 26, 2014. He is facing numerous charges of voyeurism, production of child pornography and possessing child pornography.

The suspect was a pastor in Gretna. He took advantage of his role in the community to access potential victims. Police are aware of multiple victims, and the investigations are ongoing. The suspect is no longer in his position with the church.
