On June 18, 2014, at approximately 9:30am, Altona RCMP responded to a construction fatality in the RM of Stanley in the neighbourhood of Hochfeld, approximately 12 kilometres south of Winkler, Manitoba.

Police say that a 60-year-old male from the RM of Stanley was working on a construction site when a large steel pipe fell on him. Coworkers called 911 and local EMS attended. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
