At approximately 6pm on July 5, 2014, The Pas RCMP responded to a report of a possible drowning. The Pas Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also attended.
Initial police investigation revealed that a 40 year-old male had been out on a boat fishing on Clearwater Lake with family members. The boat was approximately 1/4 mile from the shore when he dove into the water to go swimming. The man did not resurface after diving into the water.
RCMP report that at approximately 7pm the man’s body was recovered and was transported to The Pas Health Complex. Emergency personnel were unable to resuscitate him.
Police say that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident.
