On September 1, 2014, at 8pm, Brandon RCMP responded to a fatal collision involving a cyclist and a SUV, approximately two kilometres west of Brandon, Manitoba.
Police say that an eastbound SUV struck a cyclist traveling in the same direction. The cyclist, a 24-year-old male from Toronto, Ontario, was transported to local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The 28-year-old female driver of the SUV and her three passengers, all from Sioux Valley First Nation, Manitoba, were not injured in the collision.
It is unclear at this time if the cyclist was wearing a helmet.
RCMP report that alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision. An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
