On May 25, 2009 at around 6:45pm RCMP Selkirk were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of Morrison Avenue in the City of Selkirk after receiving a report of a collision involving a pick-up truck and a garage.
Paramedics at the scene attended to the driver of the vehicle who declined medical treatment. The driver was then taken into RCMP custody. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
RCMP have charged a 69-year-old man, Charan Singh Bahara of Selkirk Manitoba with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol content over .08. Bahara was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Selkirk Provincial Court on July 03, 2009.
The damage to the garage is believed to be valued at approximately $15,000.
