Ted Falk, MP for Provencher and the Hon. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister for Status of Women, hosted a roundtable with business women and community leaders from southeastern Manitoba. The roundtable was held at the Steinbach Days Inn.
Economic Action Plan 2014 committed to increasing mentorship among women entrepreneurs. As part of this commitment, MP Falk and Minister Leitch heard suggestions today on how to increase the number of women entering into and succeeding in business.
Participants discussed the challenges and opportunities faced by women business owners in Manitoba and across Canada.
Minister Leitch took the opportunity to highlight the measures the Government of Canada has put in place to support women entrepreneurs.
“Provencher has benefited greatly by the spirit of entrepreneurism that exists here in southeastern Manitoba,” said MP Falk. “Today we heard many great ideas from women who are local business and community leaders. This sharing of ideas will help our Government’s efforts to expand economic opportunities for businesswomen across Canada.”
