A 22-year-old man is facing a number of drug-related charges after Steinbach RCMP arrested him while investigating a motor vehicle collision incident.
On January 27, 2015, shortly before 4:30pm, Steinbach RCMP were called to a motor vehicle collision involving a school bus and a car at the corner of Laing Gate and Mooney Avenue. During the course of the investigation, police found that the driver of the car that struck the school bus was in possession of methamphetamine as well as items related to the sale of methamphetamine.
RCMP report that the driver, a 22-year-old male, was arrested and subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. The driver was released on a recognizance and will be appearing in Steinbach Provincial Court in March.
