A guard at the Oxford House RCMP detachment is facing charges of sexual assault after being recently arrested by local police.
On January 26, 2015, Oxford House RCMP received a report that a guard at the local detachment had sexually assaulted a female prisoner on January 23, 2015. An investigation was launched immediately.
On January 31, 2015, 54-year-old Ken Lauzon of Oxford House, was arrested and charged with sexual assault, uttering threats and breach of trust.
Lauzon was a contract employee of the RCMP, hired through the Commissionaires. His role was to guard prisoners lodged in cells at the Oxford House RCMP Detachment. Lauzon’s RCMP security clearance and building access has been revoked and he has been released from custody and will appear in Thompson Provincial Court on March 27, 2015.
