RCMP have charged three adults and one youth in connection with numerous break and enters from the fall months of 2008 in rural Manitoba.

During the fall months of 2008, the Elphinstone RCMP received numerous complaints of break and enters in the Village of Elphinstone and the surrounding Rural Municipality of Strathclair. From September to November, multiple private residences and businesses were targeted, including the Lions Den and St. Mary’s church in Elphinstone. In each reported incident, significant damage and theft of property occurred.

Several months of investigation by the Elphinstone and Wasgaming RCMP detachments, along with information provided by local concerned citizens has lead to the arrest of three adults in connection with the offences. 22 yr-old Walter French of Rolling River First Nation was charged with one count of break and enter. 22 yr-old Traverse Flette of Keeseekoowenin First Nation was charged with four counts of break and enter and four counts of Breach Probation. 21 yr-old Paul Houle of Keeseekoowenin First Nation was charged with five counts of break and enter, three counts of breach probation and two counts of breach recognizance. One youth was jointly charged.

All four individuals have been released on strict conditions and are awaiting court appearances.
