Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) welcomes 51 new members – mostly direct support workers, sorters, and truck drivers employed by enVision Community Living and working at Kindale Industries and Eastman Recycling Services.
The employees voted in favour of joining Education, Service, and Health Care Union, Local 306.
enVision Community Living, based in Steinbach, provides opportunities and support for adults with intellectual disabilities, including work programs such as Eastman Recycling Services, which provides recycling pickup and sorting for Steinbach and neighbouring communities, and Kindale Industries, which provides support through work and vocational opportunities.
CLAC is currently preparing to negotiate a first collective agreement with enVision Community Living.
