Ted Falk, Member of Parliament for Provencher, recently had the opportunity to recognize nine local Second World War Veterans. Six WWII veterans were personally presented with a limited-edition commemorative lapel pin and a personalized certificate of recognition signed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Three additional WWII Veterans were not able to attend.
Last fall, the Government of Canada launched this special tribute as a symbol of our country’s enduring gratitude to all those who served during this conflict.
“We owe our freedom to the courageous men and women who selflessly fought for the way of life that we all enjoy today,” said MP Falk. “It is my honour to recognize these veterans for their service. We never want to take for granted the sacrifices that they and their families made for us and this ceremony is a small way for us to recognize their heroic efforts on our behalf.”
