The director of trade show marketing with the National Pork Producers Council expects about 20,000 pork producers from around the world to pass through this year’s World Pork Expo trade show.
World Pork Expo 2015, one of the world’s largest pork specific exhibitions and trade shows, is underway in Des Moines, Iowa until Friday.
Doug Fricke, the director of trade show marketing with the National Pork Producers Council, says this is a world class event that provides exhibitors a great opportunity to get their products in front of people that may not ordinarily see them.
On display we’ve got a variety of items that are all related to the production and that’s focused mainly in outdoor-indoor space.
We’ve got representation from across the world again on both domestic, Canadian companies, companies from China, South America, Europe here as well, and that’s what draws the attention.
You’re going to see a lot of variations in new products and services and equipment, and what is going to be cutting edge in the years to come.
We’ve got a number of handling companies for manure management, we also have some ventilation companies, equipment companies and also some transportation companies.
We’ve got a number of new items that are always unveiled at the show and, from the perspective of what people will see when they come to the show, it’s what is the newest thing that they can put into their operation for profitability, sustaining what they need to do as an operation to maintain their profitability in years to come.
Fricke notes there’s a lot of information available about World Pork Expo on line and people can get a complete listing of seminars and activities that will be happening during the show at worldpork.org.
