David Richert is set to leave for Round 4 of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup event this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course just outside of Columbus, Ohio. After finishing mid-pack at the last race in Utah, hopes are higher as Richert anticipates he has made the correct adjustments necessary for a better qualifying and race performance this weekend.
Richert is looking forward to being back in his race car. “It’s been a long four weeks off but the time has really flown by as there have been many things to work on in the business side of racing” notes Richert.
This upcoming race event in Ohio is about more than just racing. Should Richert complete the entire race distance, over $600 additional will be raised to help Samaritan’s Purse construct BioSand Water Filters in parts of the world which do not have access to clean water.
Also this weekend, Richert will be driving a high-speed Father’s Day card around the race track. Heart-shaped decals are being sold by David Richert Racing and anyone who purchases a heart will have the opportunity to write a Father’s Day greeting on it. The decal will then be placed directly on the front hood of Richert’s car for the entire race weekend. All of the funds raised from the sale of the decals will go towards purchasing toys, games, etc for the kids at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where Richert will stop by for a visit on Friday.
