RCMP conducted a search of the school and located two suspects fleeing the building. The suspects were apprehended and found to be wearing bandana’s covering their faces. RCMP also discovered that the suspects used duct tape to cover the surveillance camera’s inside the school. Access appears to have been gained by breaking a window.

RCMP recovered stolen property including a cell phone, digital camera and cash.

An 11-year-old youth was released from RCMP custody and turned over to his parents and will not be facing charges due to their age. A second 15-year-old youth was released on a promise to appear and turned over to their parents and will be facing charges of break and enter with intent, possess break-in instruments and disguised with intent to commit an offence. The youth is scheduled to appear in Selkirk Provincial Court on July 10, 2009.
