Parkland Area RCMP officers responded to approximately 11 calls for service from the Countryfest site Thursday which included 5 assaults, 5 disturbances and 1 mischief.
Officers patrolling the highways in and around the site issued approximately 30 tickets for a variety of infractions under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act, including speeding, failing to wear a seat belt, depositing litter on a highway and possessing liquor in an unauthorized place. Two 24 hour driver licence suspensions were issued and three people were arrested for Impaired Driving in unrelated vehicle stops. Shortly after 6:00 p.m. a 19 year old Winnipeg man was arrested as he was driving away from the site. Around 10:30 p.m., another vehicle leaving the site was stopped by officers. The 19 year old Winnipeg woman was found to be impaired and was arrested. Then around 4:20 a.m., a vehicle was observed traveling north on highway 10 from the Countryfest site and was noted to be swerving in it’s lane of travel. The driver, an 18 year old Dauphin area woman was found to be impaired.
All three people have been released from custody and will be appearing in Dauphin Court later this month.

Parkland Area RCMP officers responded to approximately 6 calls for service from the Countryfest site Friday which included 1 assault, 2 disturbances and 3 reports of driving infractions. A 21 year old man from Kindersley, Saskatchewan was arrested for Assault following a complaint from the man’s girlfriend. The woman was not seriously injured. A traffic stop in Dauphin around 1:00 a.m. resulted in the arrest of a 44 year old man from the Pine Creek First Nation for Impaired Driving. Both men will be appearing in Dauphin Court at a later date. Throughout the day, a number of checkstops and roving patrols resulted in approximately 30 charges being issued for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act. Charges were laid for speeding, equipment violations and unauthorized possession of liquor. Three driver’s licence suspensions were also issued.

Parkland Area RCMP officers responded to four disturbances and one 911 hangup call from the Countryfest site Saturday. In unrelated traffic stops, two people were arrested for impaired driving. A 20 year old man from Lundar, Manitoba and a 21 year old man from Winnipeg, Manitoba will each be appearing in Dauphin Court at a later date facing charges of impaired driving. Throughout the day, a number of checkstops and roving patrols resulted in approximately 15 charges being issued for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act. Charges laid included speeding, equipment violations and unauthorized possession of liquor.

On Sunday, officers from the Parkland Area answered approximately 6 calls related to activities at the Countryfest. There were 2 reports of disturbances, 2 thefts and 1 report of mischief. In addition to this, a 19 year old man from Fort McMurray, Alberta was arrested for being in possession of Ecstacy. The man was also found to be on conditions of a recognizance and was in breach of those conditions. Approximately 50 pills were seized from the man. The man has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Court on July 7, 2009 Throughout the day, a number of checkstops and roving patrols resulted in approximately 15 charges being issued for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act. Charges laid included speeding, equipment violations and unauthorized possession of liquor.
In 2008, 2 people were charged for Impaired Driving and approximately 85 charges were laid for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act. In 2009, 6 people were charged for Impaired Driving and approximately 110 charges were laid for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act.
