On June 24, 2016, at around 12:40am, Ste Rose du Lac RCMP received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on PR 481 in Crane River First Nation.
Officers and emergency personnel attended the scene and located a SUV in a ditch. The driver, a 17-year-old male from Crane River First Nation, was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other male passengers, both from Crane River First Nation, were taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol and no seatbelt are believed to be contributing factors in this incident. The investigation continues with the assistance of a traffic analyst.
