On July 21, 2016, Sprague and Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a unresponsive 5-year-old male youth, who had been located in the Vassar Pool by a passerby swimming with their own child.
Police say that an on-duty lifeguard administered CPR, prior to EMS attending. The youth was then flown to Health Sciences Centre via STARS Air Ambulance.
RCMP are happy to report that due to the quick actions of the parent/passerby, lifeguard and responding medical professionals, including STARS, the youth was fine and was released from the hospital on July 22, 2016.
