On December 24, 2008 at 12:45 p.m., Swan River RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle roll-over collision that had occurred approximately 52 km’s north of Swan River on PTH #10.

A Ford F150 pickup truck was north bound on the highway when it apparently lost control and skidded into the ditch on the east side of the highway.  At that time the pavement was clean and dry and the weather was clear.  As the vehicle rolled repeatedly the driver, who was the lone occupant, was ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency services, including an off duty police officer from Saskatchewan, attended to the injured party who was subsequently transported to the Swan Valley Health Centre in Swan River, Manitoba.  Shortly after arriving at the Hospital the 42-year-old male, a resident of the Swan Valley area, was pronounced dead.

Identification is not being released at this time.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the collision.

An autopsy is being conducted in this matter.

The investigation continues.
