On August 29, 2009 at about 12:30am, Grand Rapids RCMP located a vehicle heading north bound on Highway 6 reported to be taking a quantity of cocaine to Norway House Manitoba.
The vehicle was intercepted and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately nine ounces of crack cocaine.
The value of the cocaine is estimated between $25,000 and $35,000 in northern Manitoba.
38-year-old Larson John Anderson and 32-year-old Marcel Eugene Folster, both of Norway House First Nation, have been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. They have been held in custody to appear in The Pas Provincial Court on Monday, August 31, 2009.
Two 35-year-old women from Norway House First Nation, will also be facing charges. They have been released on a promise to appear to attend Grand Rapids Provincial court on December 16, 2009.
The investigation continues.
