CBSA Officers seized a total of 1,009 tablets of OxyContin.

The RCMP will formally charge two Winnipeg men under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act following a drug seizure made by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at its Winnipeg Commercial Operations.

On October 26, 2009, a shipment was awaiting clearance for entry into Canada. Officers referred it for further examination and upon inspection found a bag of pills. Officers examined the pills and determined they were OxyContin. CBSA Officers seized a total of 1,009 tablets of OxyContin, which were turned over to RCMP for further investigation.

RCMP Winnipeg Drug Section will each charge a 27-year-old and 23-year-old from Winnipeg with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both have been released from custody on promise to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court on December 17, 2009.

The investigation continues.
