On November 25, 2009, at approximately 5:50am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 8 near Highway 67 in the RM of St. Andrews.
The driver of a south-bound SUV, a 30-year-old woman from the Gimli area, was transported to Seven Oaks Hospital then transferred to Health Sciences Centre where the woman was pronounced deceased.
The woman is believed to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the rollover.
The 35-year-old passenger and husband of the driver was transported to Selkirk General and District Hospital in stable condition and appeared to have been wearing a seatbelt.
Icy road conditions are considered to be a factor in the rollover.
Selkirk RCMP would like to remind motorists that driving habits should be adjusted to the changing weather and road conditions.
