On December 19, 2009, at approximately 8pm, Selkirk RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located on the 500 block of Pacific Avenue in the City of Selkirk.
RCMP seized approximately 15 rocks of crack cocaine along with over $1,200 cash and other drug paraphernalia.
Selkirk RCMP have charged 36-year-old Michelle Lynne Obirek of Selkirk with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of failure to comply with conditions of a recognizance resulting from being on bail for previous drug trafficking charges.
RCMP have also charged 36-year-old Gary Allan McChesney of Selkirk with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Both Obirek and McChesney were remanded into custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre and will be appearing in Winnipeg Court on December 22, 2009.
