Portage la Prairie RCMP are requesting public assistance in three arson incidents which occurred earlier this month.
On December 6, 2009, between 6am and 6:30am, Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage la Prairie Emergency Services responded to three separate complaints of arson.
The first being a garage fire that completely destroyed the garage, a shed and two vehicles on the 100 block of Tupper Street North, the second being a garage fire on the first block of 4th Street N.W., and the third a utility trailer located behind a business on the 600 block of Saskatchewan Avenue West.
Damage is estimated at over $65,000.00 in total and no injuries were reported.
A male was witnessed setting fire to the utility trailer. He is described as being approximately 6′ tall with a slim build.
Police believe the same individual is responsible for all three fires.
